Problem: This water reservoir in Russellville, Alabama had been losing water and leaking through limestone channels. It was estimated that the volume of loss was around 1.2 Million gallons per day.

SSCI Solution: SSCI drilled almost 2 miles of holes based on engineering data provided to us by consulting geologists using electrical resistivity mapping.

Once solution channels were found, we pumped cement grout and chemical grout to seal off the leaks, fill the voids, and shore up the dam structure.

Using 400 Cubic Yards of grout and 180 gallons of Polyurethane Grout we estimated that closer to 4 million gallons of water per day was stopped. The water you see here is the volume that was previously leaking. We pumped 14 cubic yards of grout under the concrete spillway and 88 cubic yards into caverns directly behind the dam.

This project was extremely delicate, even fragile. Thanks especially to "Super Grouter" Ector "Tex" Gleaves, Bill Jaques, and the engineers at OMI in Huntsville for helping make this a keystone project.
